Yu Takada "Maze"

Yu Takada

Born in Tokyo. While attending Ina Special Needs School High School, he participated in the Shizensei Club's taiko workshops and demonstrated his outstanding sense of rhythm. He became a member of the Shizensei Club in 2001 and has been involved in expressive activities such as farm work, painting and dance, and has also participated in overseas performances in Belgium, Hong Kong and Denmark. He plays a central role in the taiko drumming of the Dengaku dance. Despite having Down's syndrome and suffering from health concerns, he continues to expand the scope of his expression with his rich sensitivity and imagination. In the fall of 2013, he held a solo exhibition, "Labyrinth of Colors."

Sachiko Miyazawa "Spring"

Sachiko Miyazawa

I apply lots of finger paints to both hands and paint as if I'm holding a canvas. I love sudden sounds and lively atmospheres. There's a lot of movement throughout, and the gentle touch is combined with the powerful colors that are full of emotion. I take my time layering the colors, so they blend together exquisitely to create a rich color palette.

Shiho Saito "Donuts"

Shiho Saito

Born in 1990, currently living in Shiga Prefecture. Belonging to "Yamanami Kobo" since 2011. Began working on his own artworks around 2014. At the beginning, he painted on fabric and was involved in the production of products such as bags, but he showed a desire to create paintings himself and his current activities have become established. Motifs are varied, including living things, plants, and favorite foods. After completing a rough sketch, he colors it in the color that matches the image, and then slowly applies the pattern using pointillism techniques. The finished works are expressed in mysterious shapes that are similar to Aboriginal rock art.

Yosuke Katsuma "(Untitled)"

Yosuke Katsuma

Born in 1991, currently living in Shiga Prefecture, he has been affiliated with Yamanami Kobo since 2010. His creative style is to paint directly on his palms and fingers, rubbing them carelessly on the drawing paper, and using various techniques with brushes, pens, etc. His creative activities began with the act of wiping his hands with clothes or paper when they got dirty with paint. He puts joy and fun into his works while playing with words and interacting with the staff, sometimes drawing powerfully, sometimes delicately, as the mood takes him. Wanting to see his happy, broad smile, he sits down to draw with the staff again today.
