A special exhibition themed on the works of Kenji Miyazawa will be held. HERALBONY NEWS February 2013 issue①

Good evening, this is Marie, a HERALBONY staff member.

"HERALBONY NEWS" introduces our latest endeavors. This month, we have a lot of news to share with you.

A special exhibition based on the works of Kenji Miyazawa, "The Park of the Future Created by Everyone"
Starting February 21st

From Friday, February 21st to Thursday, March 20th, 2025, we will be holding a special exhibition titled "The Park of the Future We Create Together: Heralbony and Miyazawa Kenji" at the BAG-Brillia Art Gallery on the 1st floor of Tokyo Tatemono Kyobashi Building.

The uncle of HERALBONY's representative, Matsuda, is a researcher of Miyazawa Kenji, and Miyazawa Kenji, a poet from Iwate Prefecture, has a deep connection to HERALBONY, as the company has previously produced umbrellas based on the poem "Ame ni mo Makezu."

This exhibition is based on Kenji's short children's story "Kenju Park Forest," and is a special exhibition that imagines the future through the works of six contracted artists.

The messages left by Miyazawa Kenji through this work, such as "Do not assume values" and "Stand by your beliefs without bending," will be inherited, and through a space woven with works by outstanding authors, visitors will have the opportunity to imagine what "true happiness" is.

Heralbony Card
New ticket design introduced

A new card design has been added to the "Heralbony Card," which allows you to support artists and welfare facilities every time you use it.

Fran Duncan, who lives in the UK, has won the Marui Group Award at the HERALBONY Art Prize 2024 for his work "Blue Marble," which has an overwhelming presence due to the unexpected mixing and spreading of colors created by alcohol ink.

The fantastical colors that evoke a beautiful future of the Earth will bring excitement to your every shopping trip.

The "Heralbony Card" is a card where 0.1% of the total amount spent will be used through Heralbony to support the operation of the artist who created the art on the card and welfare facilities where the artist works.

In addition, 1,000 yen will be paid to HERALBONY from Epos Card for each new card application, and the shopping of card members will be transformed into support for welfare activities. This initiative was recognized and won the Good Design Award in 2023.

With the addition of these new designs, you can choose from a total of 15 different card designs to find the one that best suits you.

As a company promoting the Morioka brand
Received the Morioka Living Story Award

HERALBONY received the Morioka Living Story Award, recognized by Morioka City, and HERALBONY representative Fumito attended the awards ceremony held in the city on "Isai Day" on January 31st.

The Morioka Living Story Award is given to individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of the Morioka brand.

Morioka City cited the following reasons for HERALBONY's award:

Based in Morioka City, the organization develops products that mainly feature works by artists with intellectual disabilities, and through art, it has inspired many people to change their attitudes toward welfare and people with disabilities. Its efforts have attracted attention both from within Japan and overseas, helping to raise the profile of Morioka.

In addition to producing accommodation facilities within Morioka Bus Center, the company also displays artworks on the temporary fencing around construction sites, creating opportunities for residents to come into contact with art in their daily lives and contributing to the promotion of the city as an art town.

As mentioned in the award, Morioka City is taking various unique steps to allow people to experience art in a variety of ways. One example is the "Heralbony Bus" that runs between Morioka City and the surrounding cities and towns.

Midori Kudo 's bus painted in "(Untitled) (Blue)" is not only a beautiful piece of art, but also serves as an opportunity to think about spaces that can more easily embrace the individuality of the people living in the city.

In addition, on March 29th, the renovated HERALBONY flagship store, "HERALBONY ISAI PARK", will open at Kawatoku Department Store.

This is a complex facility that will house a shop, gallery and cafe, and we are working hard to prepare it so that it can bring a new and unique experience to Morioka's cityscape.
