Responsible Manufacturing Declaration

Don't contribute to creating a negative environment.
This declaration was born from that idea.

HERALBONY is a person with a disability.
I want to change the society that is drowning in negative situations.

HERALBONY's products serve to deliver a message to society in order to realize this ideal.
We do not want to impose any burden on manufacturers or the natural environment during the manufacturing process.
I try to avoid making decisions that could unknowingly step on someone else's toes.

On the manufacturing side,
We strive to be as responsible as possible.

In order to realize the society that HERALBONY aims for, we have chosen to develop our own products.

To expand our ideas,

・Make something amazing.
- Create product-driven communication that changes the perception of disabilities.
- Make disability welfare a viable business rather than just providing support.

I think these three ideas are necessary,
This led to a business model where we develop our own products in-house.

HERALBONY embodies this through "manufacturing"
A responsible, conscious choice.

For HERALBONY, responsibility means:
It means not making choices that place bias on everyone and everything involved in manufacturing, creating excessive burdens and creating absurdity.
In other words, healthy circulation makes you stand out.
We will realize "manufacturing" based on this idea.

HERALBONY's current status

We have a strong respect for artists and their work.
As we create products to display these works and deliver them to customers, we want to extend our circle of respect to the people and environment involved in manufacturing.

However, as a developing brand like ours, our sales scale is limited and we rely on sales to continue our business, so our materials choices and the resources we can devote to development are limited.

When faced with this dilemma, what we can do is to be honest and know and acknowledge what we can and cannot do at the moment, choose what is best for us at the moment through trial and error, and gradually move in a better direction.

Looking at our ideals and what we are currently able to do, we considered our goals for this year in order to advance responsible manufacturing.

This year's goals

1

Providing products with quality that will stand the test of time

Sewing precision, fabric quality, printing technology. As tools that accompany our daily lives, we are particular about quality and value creating products that are durable enough to last for a long time.

2

Building relationships without excessive bias to produce the right amount

Rather than reducing costs through mass production, we produce the appropriate amount so that resources are not wasted. The "right amount" does not just mean what is right for us, but also what is right for the manufacturer, and through discussion we build cooperative relationships that allow us to do business on an ongoing basis.

People are involved in weaving fabric, sewing, and every other process related to manufacturing. For example, when we are asked to deliver on a short deadline, it is natural that there may not be enough time for trial and error, or that there may be misunderstandings and mistakes due to rushing. Rather than constantly releasing new products, we aim to take our time and work closely with manufacturers to build a flow for further improving product quality.

For manufacturers, the more quantity they produce, the more efficient their production. However, producing more than they can sell leads to a waste of resources, and is something we really want to avoid. Ideally, we would have a relationship where we continually request appropriate production quantities, but as this is the early days of the brand, it is difficult to predict what will sell, and we are unable to grasp a stable volume or pace, which is an issue. We aim to gradually overcome this and increase the number of manufacturers with whom we can have long-term relationships.

3

More than 60% of the products have had at least one factory tour during the production process

Who makes our products, and in what environment?
See, learn, and learn directly. We set a goal of having more than 60% of manufacturers visit our factories, leading to more advanced collaboration with manufacturers.

4

Aiming to ensure traceability of 80% of final manufacturing, 50% of processing, and 30% of raw materials

Specific targets are set for each stage of the production process to understand the production background. We aim to understand the production background as much as possible, aiming for 80% final manufacturing (the final manufacturing process such as sewing), 50% processing (the process of weaving and dyeing the fabric), and 30% raw materials (from farms where materials such as cotton and wool are produced to yarn).

As a developing brand, we have a small team of people developing our products, so we have limited time and money.
In order to properly understand the manufacturing environment, we will visit manufacturers sequentially over time.

Understanding the production background of each item takes time, as we require the cooperation of many different people.
Given the product production cycle required for business continuity, there is not enough time to do so.
We struggle daily with how to balance the resources our company can devote with the scope of what we can track.

5

Materials with low environmental impact
Increase usage rate to 50% or more

In creating products using limited resources, we proactively choose farming methods and recycled materials that emit minimal greenhouse gases and pollute water and soil as much as possible.

Because products are manufactured with limited development funds, there are cases where the budget does not match options with a low environmental impact.
In addition, there is no stock of environmentally friendly materials on the market, and even if you want to manufacture them for your own use, it is difficult to realize this because the required amount does not match the production capacity. Even if a material is good in terms of color development when printing art, it may not be the best choice in terms of environmental impact.

Achieving this year's goals
Actions to be taken next year

Action1

Incorporating product recovery and recycling <br>Product and Flow Development

Action2

We will establish a system to cooperate with manufacturers in Iwate Prefecture, where our headquarters is located, to create jobs in the field of disability welfare and to create an environment for high-quality manufacturing.

Action3

Diversity takes root in manufacturing sites,
Developing tools that will help create an environment where everyone can thrive
