The brilliance of life that colors the Shibuya sky《The Museum that Opens Me vol.7》

Good evening, this is Marie, a HERALBONY staff member.

The special exhibition "PARADISCAPE: The World as Depicted by Distinct Artists" began today at SHIBUYA SKY, the observation deck at Shibuya Scramble Square.

We will also deliver to you in our email newsletter some of the free world depicted in the skies above the city, where all life shines equally.

Created the main visual
Shu Toriyama

Shu Toriyama created the main visual for this exhibition, "Spreading." Toriyama began his creative endeavors by copying anime and manga, and today he produces unique, distinctive works.

Shu Toriyama

One of the defining features of Toriyama's work is the intricately drawn creatures. Not only animals and people, but even monsters and spirits, live vibrantly, and you can sense the natural brilliance of life in them.

Just as you can look out over the people passing by from SHIBUYA SKY, why not immerse yourself in Toriyama's world by looking at the work as a whole or by poring over the details?

The brilliance of life that only he can see
Shunichi Iwase

Perhaps there is a beauty in nature that only a distinctive artist can see. Shunichi Iwase 's works have the power to inspire such thoughts.

Iwase is a quiet, introverted person who draws carefully and slowly. The creatures he creates by steadily filling the canvas with his pen are delicate yet dynamic in appearance.

Shunichi Iwase

One of the exhibits, "Whales and Sharks," is a work that conveys the strength of animals living freely in the open sea.

Iwase's works have often been monochrome, but we hope you will also take a look at his colored works, such as "Giraffe," painted with unique colors, and "Tokyo Night View," which is an inanimate object that seems to whisper of life.

Depicting the image of a "herd" living together
Asuka Tazaki

Asuka Tazaki lost about 200 pieces of artwork and other important things in an instant in the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Shocked and saddened, she put down her paint brush for a time, but words from her father made her start creating again.

>Original artwork for "Lily's Memories"
Asuka Tazaki

This exhibition has a theme of "herds and migration," and features works of animals that live together in harsh natural environments, helping each other out. Why not view the exhibit and see a glimpse of ourselves in the dogs and birds that live in groups?

Harmony created by unique animals
Daisuke Shibuta

Daisuke Shibuta waves the starting flag to a rally car decorated with his own artwork. Shibuta's work, which won the TOYOTA Corporate Award at the "HERALBONY Art Prize 2024," will also light up the Shibuya sky.

>Original artwork for "Living on the Savannah"
Daisuke Shibuta

Shibuta, who loves zoos and aquariums, draws animals with bold shapes and attractive colors. The animals that appear in "Living on the Savannah" are also unique, yet mysteriously harmonious.

We have curated scenes of colorful life coexisting together, such as "Break Time" where penguins gather together, and "Attention" where green sunfish and pink dolphins swim.
