The story of our first product, the necktie

Good evening, this is Marie, a HERALBONY staff member.
Do you know what the first product that HERALBONY created was? Today, we will tell you the story behind our first product, the necktie, which is our "origin" and is still loved by many customers today.

An unusual tie that seemed impossible to realize

It all began with a proposal titled "Lumbinii Thailand."
Takaya and Fumito, the representatives of HERALBONY, were deeply impressed by the Lumbini Museum in Iwate and decided to share its uniqueness with many people. The first thing they came up with was a necktie with art woven into it using silk.

When I thought about how to express the unique texture that is created by repeating motifs and patterns, and the unevenness created by strong brush pressure, the idea of "weaving it into textiles" was born.
Despite being an unprecedented project, it was well received by Itagaki Takashi (Art Director of Lumbini Museum), who understood Takaya and Fuminori's strong feelings, and the commercialization project got off to a smooth start.
However, the search for a partner manufacturer was a tough one. They were turned away repeatedly, and even when they thought they had finally been listened to, they continued to be turned down, with the excuses being that "it is not realistic to manufacture using the number of colors required to faithfully reproduce art on delicate silk," and "it is not profitable."

But all of this changed with a fateful encounter with Ginza Taya, a long-established men's goods store. The neckties are woven by artisans in the company's own studio in Yamagata Prefecture, with meticulous attention to detail, from the art used to the trimmings, to create a finish that fully expresses the inherent charm of artwork.
Amazing Japanese craftsmanship and a passion for extraordinary art have brought to life a tie that was never thought possible.

Ties with such stories have continued to shine on the collars of adventurous people, from the days of MUKU, the predecessor brand of HERALBONY, to the present day.
At last year's M-1 Grand Prix 2024, the twin comedy duo Daitaku competed in the finals wearing Michiyo Yaegashi's "Word Processor" and Kiyoshi Yaegashi's "(Untitled) (House)."
