■Exhibition Concept

Each person has various characteristics. We respect unique expressions by viewing the differences in each person's personality, including their strengths and weaknesses, as distinctive features. HERALBONY believes that originality is important, and supports the creative endeavors of people who have been chosen based not on social standards such as not discriminating against people with disabilities, but simply on the very basic value of being wonderful artists.
If we broadly define "expression" as the act of replacing one's thoughts and feelings with some kind of action, there are various forms of expression in everyday life. Cooking, humming, running, sleeping soundly, and so on. And by confronting the words and attitudes expressed, we can know what the person is thinking and trying to say. "Drawing/making" is also a form of expression, and by looking at the work, we can receive the artist's feelings and intentions. Works by people with intellectual disabilities are characterized by their attempt to convey "I am here" through their works, which cannot be explained by reason or theory, and which embody "drawing/making, that is, living." When we "view a work," we are nothing other than witnessing a pure and raw artistic activity based on the artist's urge to express himself. The exhibition "ART IN YOU" believes that art is not only a work of art, but something that you, the witness, create within yourself. We want you to empathize with the artist's way of life and way of thinking through the work, while spreading that message as far and wide as possible. I hope that this exhibition will help you realize that "art is within you" without relying on conventional art and cultural cliches.
